The Niagara Peninsula Society is one of over 100 local societies of the Archaeological Institute of America, an organization founded in 1879 to promote archaeological research and publication and the preservation of the world's archaeological heritage. Through our public lecture program and other activities, we provide a venue for people in the Niagara Region interested in archaeology to meet each other and interact with archaeologists working both locally and worldwide. Please join us!
2008 marked the Niagara Peninsula Society's 40th Anniversary. We held a special celebration Lecture/Dinner on April 6, 2008 when Prof. Michael Fuller Spoke on "The DaVinci Code, Templars and Archaeology". Included was a Silent Auction of "archaeological" treasures and many related books, and prizes. The evening was a great success and raised funds for expenses for the future of our Society. Join us when we start our next series of eight lectures starting September 20, 2009. Please see Lecture Program for further details.
